A very beautiful experience in Hawaii shows the great and indiscriminate love of Jesus. In one of our healing services, Father Kevin walked down the aisle processing with the Blessed Sacrament. I stood at the microphone praying for healing as they focused on Jesus. A young Catholic woman had brought a Mormon friend with her. The Mormon girl had deformed hands. They had hoped we would pray with the girl. To their great surprise we were not praying individually with people, but we brought Jesus among them and told them to focus on him.

Just as in Lourdes, Father held up the monstrance and blessed the people. The young Mormon girl explained later that she did not really understand our teaching on the Eucharist, but realized that we Catholics thought this Host was the real presence of Jesus.

Looking at the sacred Host as Father Kevin blessed the people, she asked Jesus to ease the pain of her deformed hands. As she looked at the Host, she felt something come from it and go through her body. As she walked out of the church, she nudged her Catholic friend and said, "Look." She held out her hands and they were healed.

Miracles do happen! We believe that the Lord, as much as he was doing for the Mormon girl, was also saying to us Catholics, "Do you see and believe in my power?"
